My next in the
Fallout 3 series is done! This is the
Alien Blaster, a cheesy 1950-esque sci-fi alien pistol found in a downed alien saucer hidden in the wasteland.
This one wasn't too bad, better than the
Laser Pistol anyway (which was a pain in the ass... whatever). My final build came out to be ~12" (~30 cm) long, ~4" (~10 cm) wide, and ~8" (~20 cm) tall.
The handle is a little inaccurate, I got sorta lazy and didn't feel like making half a dozen half-torus ring shapes to slide onto it to give it ridges (you probably wouldn't be able to hold it without crushing them if you weren't using cardstock, which I didn't).
Like my previous model, it's not perfectly "life-sized". My OCD tendencies forced me to keep it at the same scale as the Laser Pistol
, so it's about 90% of what it would be life-sized... anyone with a printer capable of printing 11x17 can easily scale it up an appropriate amount.
Anyway, enjoy! I’m off to consider my next model... maybe I’ll try the
Combat Shotgun, that'd be pretty bad-ass... though nearly impossible without being at least partly cardstock.
