For those that don't recognize it, this is the Needler, a Covenant weapon from the PC and Xbox series, Halo! There’s more info on the wiki page if you're really interested. Specifically, this is the Halo 1 model, but not too much changes about it throughout the series except the level of detail (and being dual-wieldable in Halo 2!) and overall size.

I've had this sitting in my incomplete folder for over a year and a half now, and with the lull I've had since finishing the Combat Shotgun, I decided to wade through that mess and see if there was anything worth salvaging. Honestly, this was more work than I was expecting it to be, I really made a mess with the geometry way back when, and putting a model together on this scale was a bit interesting at times. Eh, it was totally worth it.

I was a little torn on how to handle the needles on it. In the 1st person view, they look like a dark-purple-ish blue, but in the 3rd person, they’re a very bright pink, so I tried to find a middle ground… they came out a lot darker once I printed them though, so I guess I should have made them a good bit brighter. Oh well!

The final build came out to be ~2' 2" (~66 cm) long, ~8.5" (~22 cm) wide, and ~2' (~60 cm) tall. This actually is life-sized, honest! I took the dimensions from the halo wiki itself. Look at this picture of Capt. Keyes with one if you don't believe me, the thing is the size of his torso! Not to mention I'm only like 5'6" to begin with... As per usual, it's made entirely of plain copy paper, no cardstock included. If anyone tried building one, I would suggest cardstock for at least the inner handle if nothing else. Hmm, I think that’s it...

Oh god, I hope I’m not developing a gun fetish with all the models I’ve done lately...

Mmmm its been a few years... I think I closed it somewhere inside where the handle is. For this I used plain copy paper, it's thinner so it helped give it a smoother appearance.

People should sell these things on Ebay! Lovely prop by the way. I want to try and make a Halo Reah Needler someday. :D

It is now hanging, completed, on my wall. It's pretty cool, though it needs some major revamps for structural integrity. It is one of the poorer papercrafts I have assembled in that regard.

Here's one of my family with my papercraft guns. My mom's got the needler, which is a bit beat up from transportation. [link]
