My god, this is by far the nerdiest thing I've ever done.
From the show Futurama, this is the needlepoint seen in Fry and Bender's apartment in the episode "I, Roommate" (season 1). For those that don't understand it, it's a Basic programming joke. The lines of code are numbered (10 is line 1, 20 line 2, etc), and the "code" is supposed to produce the proverb "Home Sweet Home". The reason I say "supposed to" is because it would actually make an infinite loop, outputting "Home Sweet Home Sweet Home Sweet...", but now I'm just over-analyzing it.
This is one of several programming jokes found throughout the series. For example, the sign in the Temple of Robotology from "Hell Is Other Robots":
10 SIN 20 GOTO HELL
or the PASCAL joke from the episode "Mother's Day"
REPEAT { LOVE MOM } WHILE 1>0
...anyway. I got the idea from watching so much Futurama the long weekend I was stuck home with a nasty little respiratory infection. Both I and my roommate for the upcoming school year are huge Futurama fans, so he'll get a kick out of it.
The final design came out to be ~13" (33cm) by ~8" (20.5cm), and took a collective 30+ hrs to stitch together. It's really not hard at all, just very tedious.
I've seen a few other templates out there, but no actual attempts to complete one, so for all I know it might be a first.
