Here's a quick little project I knocked out this weekend. I was home sick about a month ago, and without the energy to venture further than the edge of my bed, I did what I always do in these types of situations; search the seedy underbelly of the internet for horrifically depraved furry porn and poorly written fanfictions.
I came across a site selling, among other things, Stargate props and replicas (some of you may already know I'm an SG1 fan ). Now, while I don't have the kind of disposable income at my mercy to build a miniature replica armory in my closet (don't judge me!), I'd be damned if I didn't at least pick up a set of Replicator Blocks... hang on, they're not replicas? Screen-used pieces!? YES please!
And about two weeks later, a tightly wrapped manila envelope arrived at my doorstep. So, to better display them, I set up a little shadow box, along with the nice little certificate of authenticity included in the set. The blocks themselves are light weight, silver-painted, resin pieces, measuring at 1.75" (4.5cm) x 0.85" (2.25cm) x 0.25" (0.5cm). These are the standard flat "1-sided" blocks most commonly used on surfaces where large amounts of blocks were needed and close-up detail wasn't terribly important, meaning the backs of the blocks are completely flat. They're painted, but none of the other details were etched out.
(I also lold at you search decisions when stuck in bed XD)
lol, just kidding. it looks great!
